This page can also help find the right Intern Group programme for you. Northumbria students can choose between a 6 week internship, or a blended programme that combines remote work with 4 weeks in country placement.

 

Application deadline:

Monday 12th January at midday.

 

When: 

Start dates are available every month of the year. Students are encouraged to apply 3-6 months in advance of their intended start date in order to secure their spot.

The internship must be completed by August 31st to be eligible for the full amount of funding.

 

Spaces available for this project: 

There are 2 grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria.

Students who are not accepted for funding can still participate in the programme and be covered by the university's insurance

 

Funding available:

6 week internship:

There are three grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria: 

  • Living cost grant: £966 
  • Travel grant: up to £745 
  • Additional costs: up to £40 this supports payment towards buying/renewing a passport, travel insurance and vaccinations  

Blended programme:

There are three grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria: 

  • Living cost grant: £644
  • Travel grant: up to £905 
  • Additional costs: up to £40 this supports payment towards buying/renewing a passport, travel insurance and vaccinations  

 

 

Programme cost: 

The programme cost is ¥992,900  for June-July start dates and ¥892,800 for August-May start dates, including a deposit of £800.

The blended programme costs ¥790,100.
