The aim of the conference is to identify key priorities for the UK Arctic science community and welcome participants from diverse career stages and disciplines. We will focus on three themes: (1) Strengths of UK Arctic science, (2) Sustainability challenges and resilience of Arctic research, and (3) Science-policy linkages. Each theme will consist of a small number of keynote talks, panel discussions and sandpit activities. The latter will be important for enabling priorities to be agreed at the conference, which will subsequently be synthesised as a policy piece.

In addition, an extended poster session in the informal setting of Wylam Brewery will guarantee everyone is able to present their research and engage in Arctic science discussion. The conference dinner will directly follow the poster session.

Programme outline:

Tuesday 9th September
Morning (10:00 - 12:00)	Early Career Researcher session on International Polar Year 2032-33: Overview and pathways to contribute [organised by the UK Polar Network]
Afternoon (Starts at 13:00)	Theme 1 - Strengths of UK Arctic science
Evening	‘Polar Beers’ - Fascinating talks on Arctic science in a relaxed pub setting [organised by the UK Polar Network]

Wednesday 10th September
Morning	Theme 2 - Sustainability challenges and resilience of Arctic research
Afternoon	Posters at Wylam Brewery (poster format A0 size, portrait orientation)
Evening	Conference dinner at Wylam Brewery

Thursday 11th September
Morning (ending by 13:00)	Theme 3 - Science-policy linkages

Registration costs have been kept to a minimum. For waged staff it will cost £43.50, which includes the conference dinner. For current undergraduate/Masters/PhD students it is free, also including the conference dinner! This is due to generous support from the NERC Arctic Office and the Centre for Polar Observation and Modelling.
