Stunning artwork for sale at special auction organised by Northumbria students

Art lovers will be able to bid for work by national and internationally recognised artists at a special auction in Newcastle next week.

Fine Art Auction - Simon Le Ruez - To Embed (3)The annual Art Auction held by 3rd Year Fine Art Students will this year take place at Tyneside Cinema’s Pop-up Film School on Pilgrim Street on 1 December. The event has been organised to raise the funds towards the 2016 Undergraduate Degree Show and catalogue, which are both designed and created by students.

The auction will present for sale work by artists including Simon Le Ruez, Louise Wilson, Narbi Price and Kate V Robertson, along with work by Northumbria students and associates.

One of the auction’s organisers, final year Fine Art student Camilla Irvine-Fortescue, said: “With an extensive range of mediums including painting, photography, print-work, drawings and sculpture, there really is something for everyone. Artworks included are perfect for the commercial, personal or even as an investment.

“As in previous years the bidding is often fast and furious, make sure you grab a paddle. Bid for it to win it. You don’t want to miss out on this exciting event.”

The Art Auction is free to attend and the works can be viewed prior to the event at a preview evening tomorrow, Tuesday 24 November, from 6pm-8pm, at Gallery North Project Space, 51. The artwork can also be viewed online at . Please RSVP at nuartauction@gmail.com if you wish to attend the full auction, which takes place from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on 1 December at Tyneside Cinema’s Pop-up Film School, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle. Entry is free and drinks will be available from the bar.
