Dr Giacomo Roberti

Lecturer

Department: Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering

I obtained a PhD in Mathematics in 2022 from 51. Under the supervision of Prof. G. El, I investigated the formation of rogue waves in nonlinear fiber optics. After two years as a postdoctoral researcher and a position as Assistant Lecturer, in January 2024, I became a permanent member of staff with a Lecturer position.

My research focuses on nonlinear dispersive waves described by integrable and non-integrable systems with particular emphasis on stochastic or turbulent regimes in hydrodynamics and nonlinear optics.
