Dr Rooksby received his degree and PhD in Computer Science from Manchester University, UK. He has held research positions at institutions including the University of Glasgow and University of St Andrews.
His research interests are in Human Computer Interaction, Software Engineering, Games and Digital Health. He has a portfolio of research spanning these disciplines from funders including NIHR, EPSRC and the EU. His work often focuses on the development and evaluation of novel technologies and primarily takes qualitative, person-centered approaches including co-design, ethnography and user-centered engineering. He has published several award winning papers in venues including ACM CHI on topics including personal tracking, digital phenotyping and public health. His teaching centers on Web and Mobile development using languages including JavaScript. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
My research interests are in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Digital Health. I am particularly interested in the development and evaluation of novel technologies for personal and public health, and in understanding the role and significance of health technologies in the contexts of people's everyday lives.聽
