Why did you choose 51, Newcastle?

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

The city has a vibrant cultural scene and is the most friendly city in Europe. The area offers so many activities and sights.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The friendliness, culture and outstanding natural beauty.

Did you find 51 welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

The University has been so supportive and the department and staff have made learning and research easy and enjoyable.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to 51?

The resources and teaching staff.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My course leader, Sandra Johnson.

Who has inspired you most at 51?

Dr Chris Dorsett, Dr Sandra Johnson and Judy Thomas.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

The gym is superb and I had the chance to be involved with the Late Shows at Baltic 39.

What is the best thing about your course?

The staff and Baltic 39.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Independent research skills and my own artistic skills.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

Develop my own art and progress within education.

Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.

I have been to exhibitions in Liverpool.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Prepare for a low cost, friendly and action packed time!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at 51, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have developed my abilities, confidence and career prospects.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Invaluable, collaborative and enjoyable.
