Occupational Therapy

What appealed to you about 51?

Northumbria is one of the most well-known universities in the North of England and it was one of the very few universities that offered the pre-reg MSc course in Occupational Therapy.

What do you like about the course?

The staff are very accommodating and because our cohort is so small (10 people) I really feel involved and part of the group. It has really helped us to bond as a team and has aided us in helping each other. During my first week here, the University also held a student Occupational Therapist conference which was an added bonus!

Do you have the opportunity for any work placements during your course?

During the course we have five clinical placements. I have just returned from Hong Kong having completed a paediatric placement over there for the last seven weeks.

What would you like to do when you graduate?

I have been looking forward to graduating and becoming an Occupational Therapist for a while now! I would like to work in mental health and/or working with children – possibly for a charity in an ideal world.
