Placement hosts are informed of their student practice placement allocations via our web-based Arc PEP system - more information about PEP can be found here. Allocations are released four times a year in three-month blocks - each block being released a minimum of three months before the placements within that block begin.
Upon the release of an allocation, those PEP users attached to hosts to which one or more students have been allocated will receive an automated e-mail alerting them to the release of information and prompting them to log into PEP to access details of the students who have been allocated to them. PEP will display the following:
- student names and e-mail addresses
- student intake (ie what year they began their studies)
- student DBS information
- the name and e-mail address of each student's tutor
- placement start and end dates
- placement experience type
PEP also allows for the above information to be downloaded and printed. Further information about the system and guides on its operation can be found here.
Once a host area has received their allocation, they should allocate a mentor to the student through PEP ideally a minimum of four weeks before the placement begins. If a host area is unable to accommodate the placement, they must inform their Practice Placement Facilitator (PPF) as a matter of urgency. Recall Days
During the majority
of first and second year nursing clinical placements students will return to university for one
day a week to reflect on experiences, learn together and
